Goresbridge to Graiguenamanagh

One of the loveliest stretches of the Barrow lies between Goresbridge and Graiguenamanagh. 30kms out and back. The track is perfect for cycling (apart from where it has been ‘improved’).  If you want to go the whole way and return give yourself 2 hours. Lots to see and hear, unspoilt and safe. It really is a walkers paradise in particular.

Lots of requests about cycle routes that are not too taxing, are suitable for children and families. I will put up links to different routes over the next while.

Lanigan’s Lock to Sleatty and home

A couple of kilometres on the Barrow Track, wheel off at Lanigans Lock and head across towards Killeshin Church on a really quiet minor road. Don’t turn up to the church, continue straight and take a right onto the Castlecomer road. After 200 metres turn right across by Killeshin GAA and down onto the Portlaoise Road. Take a left and then a right and follow the road around to the right. It brings you back into Graiguecullen.
