The Bell of Columbanus visiting Carlow College

The symbol of the Bell is closely associated with early Irish Christianity.

It was nice today to see the Bell of Columbanus visit Carlow College on its way from Italy to Bangor in County Down.

The Bell is on display tonight in the College, will be in IT Carlow at 1pm tomorrow and the County Museum between 3pm and 4.30pm in the afternoon.

It will be on display at Mass in Myshall Church on Sunday.

Delighted to have seen it; and delighted to finally see Carlow publicly claim him as a Carlovian! His life story is fascinating and he played  major part in European Christianity.
